RANTING
Am I ranting or are you ranting?
This is just gonna be some random open ranting. I needed a place to vent and
discuss shit that bugs me from time to time that doesnt justify a page of
its own. It's also for stirring up emotions to feed my grand experiment.
This might get very long and disorganized. If you are going to comment
via e-mail be sure to remind me of the topic so I can put you in the right place.

[Timeless] I absolutely love listening to people whine about "SUV's". Newsflash!:
They have been around since the beginning, not just decades you ignorant fools.
In fact, the Ford Model T was an "SUV" because it is the vehicle form factor
that is the most practical and useful. It's the term "SUV" that needs to die,
along with whiny emotional hippies who need to mind their own business. If you
want to save the environment, then YOU should stop driving.

There's this thing happening that I like to call "Weenie Wars." Many of you in
the computer industry will know exactly what I mean. It's a phenomenon that
occurs when you hire people that are bitter about their own amateur status
and try to mix them with actual experts. Of course there are good intelligent people in the
world, here and there, but I'm talking about the whiny, manipulating,
boneheaded kind that might have an MCSE certification, or something like a degree
from ITT. This causes them to believe they are smart, so they start wanting
instant guru status. They get pissed when someone more experienced knows
something they don't, or, when someone doesn't know something they do, they run
around telling other people how dumb they are, hoping for some sort of upper
hand or something. What junior doesn't realize is that there is a whole world of
"real" gurus who not only have computer experience, but also have job experience
which usually involves working with people (including assholes like you...). Actually,
some of you reading this may very well know what it's like
to work with a team of people who don't have this sort of foolish pride, and
understand how efficient and rewarding it is to know and respect each other's experience and
areas of expertise, and how unstoppable a team like this can be (but probably not
because it's rare). Those fortunate few would then also know what
it's like when you throw in people who don't get along in this manner. You end
up with an ineffiecient team that is split up into nasty little cliques, running
around bumping into each other. And basically I guess it all comes down to respect,
and a level of maturity....
Thats all for now on that subject, but I will
leave you with this
little example
I got on a security mailing list which demonstrates the shitheaded thought
processes that these people possess, and was what finally prompted this little diatribe.

Microsoft, I don't even know what to say to you... Just try to stop keeping
humanity stupid, could you please? The profound complexity of the Universe is
the only thing that makes life worth living.
Q: Why is it that microsoft people who discover and appreciate unix seem to have
an internal conflict, and get angry easily on the subject (like when I say
microsoft is evil and manupulative and slimy and underhanded), whereas unix people
seem to look at microsoft experience/certs like having an extra pair of cheezy
gloves, just in case...?
Q: Why do people accept Microsoft? Is it fear? Afraid to look up the scale to
more challenging things? Or maybe comfort with a state of mediocre functionality?
Why don't people see the trap that they're in, personally and professionally?
Q: When are people going to realize how anti-productive it really is to run
windows, and how it is not only a risk to national security, but is retarding
the evolution of the computer industry, and the evolution of humanity itself!!?
Q: What ever happened to:
NO USER SERVICEABLE PARTS INSIDE ???
Right at the beginning of the win95/Warp battle is when I remember the
microsoft marketing machine taking a turn for the worst. Shortly afterwards,
the popular opinion was no longer 'hrm, can I do this?' It became 'why can't
I do this?! I should be able to do this!' like it was the responsibility of the
manufacturer to make Dummies feel smart. They started to feel entitled to
computer weenery, because they had a buddy that stuck in a new video card and
talks about it, then they should too right? Dummies need to be reminded
that they are dumb so they will try to learn, otherwise they will just remain
dumb and take the rest of us with them. That's why most people call an
electrician or plumber, or take the car in for an oil change, because they know
they shouldn't do it themselves, and they accept that.
[080913] I just experienced the new Mojave propaganda... I guess suckering
people didn't work quite so well with vista so, give it another shot. Could
people be getting smarter? They did the right thing though by targeting Dummies
directly. Instead they should just say "Hey, you're a Dummie and you know it, just
play with our new eyecandy! :) :) :) You won't exert one brain cell! YAY!!!" And
what's up with the Castro lookin' guy?
[080925] Hahaha and another one with a vandal saying spray painting crap on walls
is his office... so, now they are legitimizing criminals?

I can certainly believe that the sun is good for us, since it played a major
part in creating us, but I think if we want to save the environment, we should
ban tanning salons. But I have to wonder, how many SUV haters would be willing
to give up their superficial need to bake in a coffin?
