SUBJECT: RITVAX VMScluster Retirement
After more than 20 years of service in the RIT computing environment, the RITVAX
VMScluster service is heading towards retirement. On June 1, 2009, interactive
shell access (telnet, SSH) to the RITVAX VMScluster service will be disabled.
This affects access to the VMS systems known as VAXA, VAXB, VAXC, VAXD, VAXE,
VAXF, VAXG, VMS1, VMS2, VMS3, and VMS4, also accessible by the name RITVAX.
If you have files stored in your account on the VMS servers that you wish to
keep, you will need to move them prior to June 1. If you need assistance with
this, or if you have any questions, please contact the ITS HelpDesk at
585-475-4357 (voice), 585-475-2810 (tty), or helpdesk@rit.edu.
